Our goal of mentorship is to provide a safe and trustworthy relationship for children over the age of six. The mentor serves as a role model, teacher, and friend to the youth. The mentor provides a range of services and teachings involving:
Mentors can also assist with medical appointments, school meetings, homework, family visits, cultural activities, and much more! Ultimately, the mentor will form a positive relationship with the youth, developed through conversations, activities, and unconditional acceptance.
All Mentors are supervised by Registered Social Workers, with no more than ten mentors assigned to each supervisor to ensure quality of service. Mentors will work with the youth and their agencies to establish goals . Monthly progress reports will be provided for all youth enrolled in the program.
The fees for mentorship are based upon the expertise of the mentor and the needs of the youth. Fees include costs associated with mileage and activity expenses.
Youth with Treaty numbers under the age of eighteen may qualify for mentorship services under Jordan's Principle. If the youth does not have a Treaty Number themselves, a parent's Treaty number can be used instead. If family is non-Treaty, please contact us to discuss a rate.
